United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP)
Chair - Fion HoDear delegates,
I am Fion, the Chairperson of CityU Model United Nations Conference 2013. It is my great pleasure to welcome you all for joining this event. Though I am a student from the College of Business, I have a passionate heart in studying international affairs and promoting MUNC as the one who is waiting to be the CityUMUN ExCo of next year and current GYM organizing committee member. Since I was a secondary school student, I have actively been participating in different MUN conferences. My fire towards MUN even goes stronger when I get into the university. Although this is my first time to chair a MUN conference, I promise I will try my utmost to give you a memorable and fruitful experience. In the coming conference, I hope you will be influenced by the enthusiasm of the Dais Team as well as the other delegates while discussing international issues. I am certain that you will find yourself making a wise decision of spending your holiday in CityUMUNC. I am looking forward to meeting all of you and seeing you engaging in the four-day debates. Yours Sincerely, Ho Yee King, Fion Year 1, College of Business City University of Hong Kong |
Co-Chair - Kiki WongDear delegates,
Welcome to City University Model United Nations Conference 2013! I am Kiki from College of Liberal Arts and Social Science. It is my great honor to be the co-chair of CityUMUNC 2013 . Since I was the delegate of the North Korea in IAEA, I found myself having an extraordinary passion in finding solutions with the hot issues all around the world. So after I entered university, I joined MUN without hesitation and became the Dais member. Model United Nations is a fantastic stage for the delegates to play the role of deputies of different countries and share their opinions which cannot be heard in other situation. Someone may think it is stupid to do this but I still believe our voice can be heard by the world one day. On the other hand, MUN is also a game, you can enjoy it with relaxation. This time, we choose UNEP as the environment issues are still serious problems nearly affecting our lives. We may pay attention to the relationship between the profit from development and the cost of environment recovery. I am looking forward to meeting all of you. Let’s create an unforgettable journey together. Yours Sincerely, Wong Qiqi, Kiki Year 1, College of Liberal Arts and Social Science City University of Hong Kong |
Co-Chair - Eric ZhuDear delegates,
Welcome to City University Model United Nations Conference 2013! I am Eric from College of Science and Engineering. It is my great honor to be one of the Dais members in this conference. Model United Nations is one of the most important activities in my extra time. I have participated in several conferences before, and the highlight would be PKMUN in 2011. Through MUN, I have been familiar with the current issues in the world and I got to know what we should do to solve this problems systematically. Meanwhile, through the cooperation with other delegates, I could broaden my vision and open my mind to different ideas. Model United Nations is a platform for the participants to exchange their opinions on the current issues from different position, and play the roles of the delegates of different countries. This time, we choose UNEP, which is a platform for the delegates to discuss the solutions to the environment issues. In this process, what we should consider is to strike a balance between environment and the development, and finally work out a resolution for the sustainable development of the whole world. I am looking forward to your performance in this conference. Wish you enjoy an interesting and meaningful conference! Yours Sincerely, Zhu Ninghao, Eric Year 1, College of Science and Engineering City University of Hong Kong |

It is my honor to be one of the Dais Team members of the City University Model United Nations Conference 2013. I am Cherry, currently studying social work in City University of Hong Kong. Throughout my university life, I have participated both local and overseas MUNs, my MUN highlights have been the WorldMUN 2013 held in March in Melbourne. My interests towards MUNs accumulate every time I participate in any activities organized by the CityUMUN, therefore I like to devote most of my time in these conferences. When I am not working with CityUMUN, you can also feel free to find me from HKMUN, as I am one of the committee members this year. I am looking forward to seeing you in the coming conference.
